Area companies are preparing for the holiday shopping season, which is good news if you’re looking for a job. According to Broome-Tioga Workforce New York, the end of September is when they started seeing seasonal job openings, and companies will want to fill them by Thanksgiving. The New York State Department of Labor says Broome and Tioga Counties combined to show, on average, a 700 job increase in the time between September and December. Currently, there are 270 active retail job openings in the Southern Tier region.
