Senator Fred Akshar visited classrooms in three local schools on Monday to kick-off a new district-wide student recognition program. Each month, Senator Akshar will recognize 3 or 4 local students selected by school districts across the 52nd Senate District who have shown great leadership, compassion, school spirit or improvement amongst their peers. For each student recognized as an “Akshar All-Star,” Akshar will present them with a t-shirt, framed certificate and a challenge coin. On Monday, Senator Akshar recognized Donavin Hamer from Maine-Endwell Middle School, Myleanna Sidelecky from Weeks Elementary in Windsor and Chuck Huizinger from Harpursville Central High School.
