The 2017 Regional Economic Development Awards were announced yesterday in Albany. The Southern Tier is set to receive $67.3 million in grants. This is a modest increase from 2016’s $60 million. Among the grants are $300,000 to expand the Tioga County Mobile Dental program, and $500,000 for The Town of Owego to replace sanitary sewer piping and help improve water quality in Brick Pond, as well as address nutrient loading of the Susquehanna River.
