The New York State Police has promoted Captain William McEvoy to the rank of Major and has assigned him to be Troop Commander at Troop C Headquarters in Sidney, NY. Troop C covers several counties including Broome, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, and Tioga. The previous Troop Commander, Major James E. Barnes, has been promoted to Staff Inspector and will be assigned to Division Headquarters in Albany.
