On Monday, the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office tried to pull over a vehicle on Route 17 eastbound. The car would not stop and was then chased to the county line, where the State Police picked up the chase. The vehicle reached speeds of about 103 miles per hour, as it sped through Tioga County and into Broome County. The driver exited Route 17 at the Airport Road exit in Johnson City and then took the Oakdale Mall exit to Harry L Drive. Police found a vehicle matching the suspected car, but no driver was located. The investigation is continuing.
