Today is #GivingTuesday, which is centered around worldwide generosity and giving back to local not-for-profits. This is the third year the day has been recognized. In the Southern Tier, the United Way, American Red Cross, and others participate in the annual day. Not-for-profits are tapping into social media by giving the day its own hashtag, #GivingTuesday, and hope it will be a trending topic to help raise awareness and money for organizations.
