A man police have called armed and dangerous is now in custody after nearly a two-week search. 33-year-old Robert Rouille, was arrested at a trailer park in the Town of Chenango in Broome County. Investigators say he was taken into custody without incident after a short standoff. Rouille was wanted for an attempted armed robbery at a Southport home in Chemung County. A couple of days after the incident police say officers tried to arrest him in Corning during a traffic stop, but Rouille was able to escape. Tuesday, the Chemung County Sheriff’s Office announced a $1,500 reward in the case. Later in the evening, troopers announced Rouille had been taken into custody. Rouille will face charges of robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree. Investigators have said more may be levied in the case.
