A tractor trailer fire shut down a portion of Interstate 81 last night. Fire crews from Whitney Point and Lisle were dispatched to I-81 near exit 8, at around 8:30pm. Exit 8 was temporarily shut down while firefighters doused the flames. Scanner reports indicate that cattle were being hauled by the truck. No comments were made as to whether or not animals were injured during the incident.
