A Johnson City man and an Endicott woman were arrested after they allegedly stole merchandise from the JC Penny store in the Oakdale Mall. 30-year-old Todd Corey is accused of fleeing the mall with the merchandise and was found by Johnson City Police hiding with the stolen items. He was also in possession of metal knuckles, eight packets of heroin, a painkiller, and marijuana. 19-year-old Shannon Thornberg was also arrested in the incident. Corey is being charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence, along with multiple drug-related misdemeanors. Thornberg is facing a petit larceny charge. All stolen items were recovered. Corey was sent to the Broome County jail while Thornberg was released on an appearance ticket.
