The Agency, which is Broome County’s Industrial Development Agency and Local Development Corporation, has issued a call to the development community to partner on the redevelopment of the former BAE site at 600 Main Street in the Town of Union. The 27-acre site, which most recently housed BAE Systems was completely devastated by flooding in 2011 and was demolished in 2018 by the United States Air Force. The Agency took title of the property last year. The Town of Union has recognized the redevelopment of 600 Main St. as a priority in its ability to bring new tax revenue and potential job creation to the community. In addition, the site serves as one of the last large parcels available for redevelopment in Broome County’s urban corridor.
