After Governor Andrew Cuomo proposed $10 million in funding for the pharmacy school at Binghamton University back in January, the governor now says it’s not clear whether state legislature will approve the full amount. The Assembly’s one-house budget this month included only $2 million for the new school, while the Senate’s one-house budget included the entire $10 million. Senator Tom Libous has said that the Senate will continue to push for the full $10 million, but some Assembly members say the cut is due to a lack of familiarity with the effort. The final details of the budget are getting worked out this week for the fiscal year which begins April 1st. The money for the pharmacy school was one of multiple regional projects Cuomo announced in his budget. The overall cost of the project is expected to be between $60 and $65 million.
