A car traveling West on Route 17 crashed into the back of a DOT plow truck Wednesday morning. The crash took place around 10:30 near the Vestal exit. Vestal Police said the truck was plowing part of the shoulder and passing lane when the vehicle behind it didn’t slow down as the truck attempted to turn off into the median. Extrication equipment was used to remove the driver from the car. The extent of the driver’s injuries at this time are unknown, and while the plow truck was damaged in the crash, the driver of the truck suffered no injuries. Vestal Police, Fire and EMS all responded to the scene.
