Some flood-damaged Vestal homes are finally being demolished. Vestal and the Federal Emergency Management Agency bought out 58 damaged homes, and they are now being torn down. Demolition began Tuesday along Second and Third Avenues. After the homes are all knocked down over the next thirty days, the vacant areas will be turned into green spaces with no homes being built there again. All homes should be demolished by April.
