Runners and walkers of all ages laced up their sneakers in Vestal Sunday for the Inaugural Traci’s Hope Pink Elk 5K Run. Around 200 people ran or walked in the race to show their support for those living with breast cancer. The event was hosted by the Vestal Elk’s club in memory of Traci Gibson, who died of breast cancer in 2006. Traci’s Hope is a not-for-profit organization that helps families dealing with breast cancer. The group helps with funding for medical and rent costs for families. Proceeds from this weekend’s run were divided between Traci’s Hope and Relay for Life of Western Broome.
