Vestal residents will soon be voting on whether the town’s fire department will purchase a rescue truck. Five months ago, voters rejected an attempt to replace a 27-year-old rescue truck, but now the town board voted unanimously to propose a less-expensive option for residents to vote on. The previous vote asked voters to approve borrowing up to $800,000 for a new rescue truck, but the new proposal asks to borrow about $675,000 for the new truck.
