A Virginia man was arrested Tuesday by the New York State Police, following a traffic stop on I-81 in Barker. The driver of the vehicle received tickets for speeding and possession of a small amount of marijuana. The passenger, 25-year-old Quais Sidiqi, of Dumfries, Virginia, was charged with misdemeanor Criminal Possession of a Weapon. Sidiqi had an unloaded handgun in his possession. Sidiqi was arraigned at Central Processing and remanded to the Broome County Jail with no bail set. His next court date is February 27th in Town of Barker Court.
