New York Gov. Kathy Hochul is demanding that the Broome County Sheriff’s Office sever its agreement with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The governor sent out letters to 12 agencies, including the Broome County Sheriff’s Office, regarding resolutions allowing some limited cooperation with ICE.
The governor said the new Local Cops, Local Crimes Act makes those agreements illegal in New York.
Hochul said the departments have until Aug. 25 to end those agreements.
