On Wednesay, April 30th, the Apalachin Lions Club will be sponsoring a mobile food pantry distribution held by the Food Bank of the Southern Tier. Members of the Lions Club will be on hand at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church to help feed low to moderate income individuals and families. Lions member Terry White says that the need for food in the community is evident just by the amount of people that have shown up to distributions in the past. Fifteen to twenty Lions Club members will help set up tables and carry food for those in need. The distribution will be held in the parking lot of St. Margaret Mary’s at 1110 Pennsylvania Avenue in Apalachin from 1 to 2 o’clock on Wednesday. Attendees are asked to please bring your own bags or boxes.
