The owner of the mobile home that was the site of Saturday’s fatal fire in Barton has been told he has one month to clean up the site. Owner David Jacobson has plans to put a new mobile home on the location, which currently has charred rubble and remains from the old home. The fire on Saturday took the life of 37-year-old Valentene Mazzella after she was overcome by smoke. The other occupant of the home, 32-year-old John Gerhard, survived the fire and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Town of Barton officials have told Jacobson he has thirty days to clean the site. Investigators determined that the fire was started by an overheated pan on the stove in the kitchen.
