Emergency responders were called to a fatal accident at a county-owned 911 tower site in Owego Wednesday. County workers were conducting maintenance at the site on Carmichael Road when one employee was accidentally struck by a vehicle. That employee was transported by ambulance to Wilson Hospital with Guthrie flight medics on board because he was not stable enough for air transport. He later succumbed to his injuries. WEBO has learned that the victim of the accident was Tioga County Fire Coordinator John Scott. He was 71 years old. No one else was injured in the incident, and it is still under investigation by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
