The Cal Harris murder trial continued yesterday. Brian Earley, Michelle Harris’ boyfriend at the time of her disappearance, took the stand to start the day. In the afternoon, two New York State Police investigators took the stand to explain their investigation process after Michele disappeared. Captain William McEvoy was an investigator with NYSP in Endwell at the time of the investigation in 2001. Senior Investigator Steven Andersen testified he was part of the Forensic Identification Unit that investigated Michele’s van, the Harris house and property. Questioning of Andersen will continue this morning in Schoharie County Court. Also yesterday, the defense requested another mistrial, due to what it said was hearsay testimony from Earley. Judge George Bartlett denied the request, but did strike that part of the testimony from the record. This was the fifth mistrial request so far.
