The Candor Fire Department and Tioga County Fire Investigation Team responded to a structure fire last night. At around 9:30 Wednesday night, lightning struck a tree near a mobile home on Owego Street in Candor. Fire Investigators determined that the lightning strike ignited the underside of the mobile home, causing the fire. No one was injured. Elsewhere, last night’s thunder and lightning storms caused trees and power lines to come down in some areas. This morning, NYSEG is reporting 389 power outages in Windsor due to last night’s weather, but all other customers are online.
