Fire officials have declared the fire which destroyed the Town of Candor Highway Department Building the result of electrical issues. The fire started just after road crews left for the day on Monday. Over 70 percent of the Town of Candor’s vehicles were destroyed in the blaze, a percentage which could have been smaller if the fire had started while crews were there. The fire comes just months after the Town of Candor finished their renovation of their facilities. A number of neighboring highway departments have already begun loaning the Town of Candor their equipment. The Town of Candor is hoping to have new facilities built by next winter.
