The Waverly-Barton Fire Company responded to another working structure fire this morning at 25 Blanket Street around 4 o’clock in the Town of Barton. Firefighters found an occupant inside the single-family dwelling and began performing CPR. That individual was transported to the hospital. No emergency workers were injured battling the blaze. Additional crews were brought in from Tioga Center, Nichols, and Greater Valley EMS. While the fire was brought under control quickly, there was heavy smoke damage. The Tioga County Fire Investigation Team and the New York State Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
