Tioga Downs Initiates ‘Farm To Table’ Initiative

Tioga Downs made their latest big announcement Thursday, but this one wasn’t regarding a casino license. The Nichols racino announced its new “Farm to Table” initiative. The program is designed to support the local agriculture industry. Senior Director of Food and Beverage Services at Tioga Downs Bill French spoke about how the initiative will change which foods will be used at Tioga Downs.

French also says that the program will allow for Tioga Downs to work with local farmers more closely.

President of the Tioga County Farm Bureau Kevin Frisbie was also in attendance Thursday, and he touched on the effect such a large entity like Tioga Downs has on the local farming community.

Tioga Downs already has a New York craft beer menu on site at their facility. The racino will also be taking part in a summer farmer’s market, and promotion of New York State wines and will host special racing events featuring New York food items.
