Across New York State, voters weighed in on Proposition One, which sought to approve up to 7 casino-style gaming facilities strategically placed throughout New York. Proposition #1 was approved last night with 58% of the vote. CEO of Tioga Downs Jeff Gural is already looking forward to his future plans. He says he plans to call the contractor this morning to begin phase one their hotel expansion project immediately, which is the indoor parking garage. Gural says they will be creating construction jobs almost immediately. It is estimated that the casinos could bring in nearly $20 million annually to the area. Tioga Downs will still have to be selected as one of the sites throughout upstate New York, but Gural is confident. A request for proposal will now go out for bids on the new casinos, and Tioga Downs will be among them.
