The area around the Price Chopper Plaza in Owego was shut down this afternoon after a bomb threat, but further investigation revealed it was a hoax. The area was evacuated around 1:30pm today after the bomb threat, according to scanner reports. The area was closed off while police and the Endicott Bomb Squad investigated. The “all clear” was given about an hour later when nothing suspicious was found. No other information has been released at this time.
