Cal Harris was sentenced in Village of Owego Court this morning after being found guilty of harassment. Harris was given a conditional discharge as long as he completes an anger management course, pays a $100 fine, and stays away from the man he was convicted of harassing for at least one year.
“I will say that I’m happy there was no jail time, I feel that was the right decision,” he told media members outside the courtroom. “The conditional discharge is fine. I have no problem with that. I just want to make it clear to everybody out there that I’m not looking for trouble. I am no different from anybody else. My kids and I want to be left alone.”
The incident occurred outside of the Tioga County Office Building in March of 2015 after the man made a comment about Harris during a class in the building. A separate case involving charges from the state police in Oneonta is still pending. Harris was found not guilty of murdering his wife earlier this year.
