Apalachin Fire and EMS was dispatched to 17 Eastbound in front of Lopke for a motor vehicle accident just before 6:30am this morning. On scene reports confirm one person was heavily entrapped. It took over an hour for first responders to extricate this victim. There was also a wounded child who self-extricated. Both of these victims were transported to UHS Wilson Hospital by ambulance.
Owego fire rescue and EMS were dispatched as mutual aid. A life flight helicopter was dispatched to the scene as well.
The Tioga County Sheriff’s department is leading the investigation.
No additional information on the victims or their conditions have been released at this time.
