A house fire in Owego kept firefighters and neighbors up until around 4 o’clock this morning. The fire started just before 1 AM, at 20 Academy Street. Firefighters evacuated some of the neighboring homes on the street. Fire investigators and additional man power were called in to help. Owego, Campville and Tioga Center all responded to the scene. The fire was contained to the upstairs/rear of the house. There were no injuries. investigators say it was caused by a clothes dryer.
