The Owego Police Department has released more information about the three-car accident that occurred on Southside Drive in Owego June 25. Police say it started when 20-year-old Jay Yang of Ithaca tried to pass a vehicle in a no passing zone, causing the crash in the area of 131 Southside Drive. 12 people were involved in the accident and five of them suffered injuries. Yang was charged with a misdemeanor count of reckless driving and also issued traffic tickets. The area was closed for two hours for cleanup and investigation.
