The Owego Police Department is investigating an armed robbery at Rite Aid on Sunday evening. Witnesses say a man entered the store at 153 Main Street just before 5:30 Sunday, forced his way into the pharmacy area and displayed a handgun. The suspect reportedly demanded a controlled substance. According to emergency communications, the suspect took Oxycodone. Witnesses reported the robber left the store through a rear exit. Police describe the suspect as a white male, six feet tall with a slender build, wearing a black coat and sweat pants, and white sneakers. No one was injured during the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call 687-2234.
