With the Owego Strawberry Festival just over a week away, the Chief of the Owego Police Department, Karen Vinti, would like to remind festival attendees that certain streets will be closed and detours will be in place. For Friday evening’s fireworks display on June 20th, both Lake and Front Street, between Church and Court Street, will be closed from 4 to 11 PM. No on street parking will be permitted in that area. Additional street closings and detours will be taking place on Saturday starting at 5 in the morning and continuing throughout the day. Saturday is the day of the annual parade. If you are traveling through the Owego area, you should seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
