On August 2nd, Owego Police arrested a woman who allegedly filed a false report with authorities. 52-year-old Barbara Ellis of Owego allegedly filed a report with police, saying that someone broke into her apartment and stole prescription medication. After an investigation, police have determined that this robbery had not taken place. Ellis has been charged with one count of falsely reporting an incident in the 3rd degree, a misdemeanor.
