A regional state budget presentation will be made at the Tioga County Office Building today. State Agriculture Commissioner Richard Ball will present a regional version of the governor’s budget proposal at 10am. All are invited and there will be time for questions from the audience. County legislators and other municipal leaders will pay special attention to the section that asks them to share or consolidate services or risk losing millions of dollars in funding this year. Legislative Chair Martha Sauerbrey says Tioga County could lose $10 million in state funding due to Cuomo’s consolidation mandate proposal. The governor wants municipalities to prepare plans for shared services to be put up for vote from taxpayers, or withhold funding if that is not done. We will have a full recap of the meeting later today on WEBO.
