The Owego Fire Department has a new Fire Chief today. The department held their annual elections yesterday. Assistant Fire Chief Scott Gurney was running for Chief, and won. Ed Franz, who served as the department’s chief for the last several years was not seeking re-election. Mark Warfle will now serve as First Assistant Chief, Roy Schreiner will be 2nd Assistant Fire Chief, and Bob Williams will continue as the Owego Fire Department’s 3rd Assistant Fire Chief. The department also has a new Treasurer. Dennis Reynolds will take on that responsibility.
