The Owego Strawberry Festival is next weekend, and each year there are a variety of events and activities for attendees. In recent years, Owego has played host to the Strawberry Shake 5K Run/Walk. Event coordinator Christine Hafer stopped by the WEBO Morning Show today to talk about the run, which already has 400 runners signed up. Last year the 5K had almost 600 runners, but Hafer expects that number could approach 700 this year. Although it is a sanctioned 5K race, walkers are invited to join in on the fun. Hafer also says the race serves as a great showcase for downtown Owego. The run takes place at 7 o’clock Friday, June 20th. Advance registration is $25 per person or $20 for members of a team of four or more. To register, you can go online to owegostrawberryfestival.com. News Radio WEBO will also be broadcasting live from the event.
