Owego’s 33rd Annual Strawberry Festival was a great success.
Festival goers, local businesses, and vendors were all pleased with the events outcome. There were many special events and highlights including fireworks Friday night, and the traditional Strawberry Festival parade on Saturday.
The crowds on North Avenue were the best they’ve been in many years, thanks in part to the Owego Fire Department’s Memorial Hose Race, honoring fallen Firefighter Matt Porcari who died battling a fire in Newark Valley this past January. The event drew a large crowd early in the afternoon. There were also many live music performances throughout the downtown area both days.
