Yesterday morning at 1:39AM the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office received an 911 call reporting a strong-armed robbery at the Citgo Gas Station on 2 W. Main St. in the Village of Owego. Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the call, upon arriving on scene found the crime still in progress. A male subject fled on foot and after a brief foot pursuit Sheriff’s Deputies placed one individual in custody. The investigation into the incident is ongoing at this time. The Sheriff’s Office is asking that anyone with information related to this crime call the Criminal Investigation Division at 607-687-1010. Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted at the scene by New York State Police.
