Sayre Borough Police have filed charges against 62-year-old James Carnrike in district court. He is now facing a charge of discharge of a firearm into an occupied structure, a third-degree felony. Sayre Borough police were dispatched Wednesday to a report of shots fired on North Elmer Avenue at the apartment building in which Carnrike lives. According to police, officers negotiated with Carnrike by telephone for about an hour before he eventually surrendered to police without further incident.
