The Tioga County Public Health has a limited supply of free flu shots available for Tioga County residents over the age of three who do not have health insurance coverage. Individuals must get their flu shot every year to ensure they are protected against multiple strains of the flu. The flu shot is especially important for those who work with children or senior citizens, or have a chronic illness like diabetes, asthma, or heart disease. There are two flu shot clinics coming up on Wednesday, November 15th from 8 – 9:30 AM and Friday, November 17th from 3:30 – 5 PM at the Health & Human Services Building located at 1062 State Route 38, in Owego. If you and your family are interested in attending either flu shot clinic, please pre-register online or by calling the Tioga County Public Health Nursing at 607-687-8600, (option 3) to schedule an appointment.
