Tioga Downs in Nichols is looking to strengthen their case for a full casino license being awarded to the Downs this fall, and on Friday it was community and business leaders from both Tioga and Chemung counties gathering at Tioga Downs to join the racino’s “All In Coalition” to raise support for the casino bid. On Friday, Tioga Downs officials say they had received resolutions or letters of support from 29 towns and villages, as well as the legislatures of Tioga, Chemung, and Schuyler counties. They also reportedly have the support of seven area labor unions, ten chambers of commerce and tourism councils, 22 economic development organizations, as well as other businesses and groups in the area. A formal application to the state for the casino license must be submitted by June 30th.
