The Tioga County Legislature held a meeting Tuesday, which began with a presentation of a Recognition Resolution Recognizing Matthew Porcari posthumously. Porcari’s wife, Christina, was on hand to accept the award for Matthew, who was killed while fighting a fire last month.
Several other county resolutions were passed in the meeting, including authorization for the Village of Waverly to apply for the 2013 NY Main Street Program Grant, which could be up to $250,000 for the village to improve downtown buildings. The Tioga County Sheriff’s Department also received over $34,000 from a New York State Homeland Security Grant.
