The Town of Candor will be holding a tire and scrap metal cleanup beginning Thursday and running through Saturday. The cleanup will be held at the Town Highway Garage at 33 Humiston Street in the village. As the town looks to minimize potential areas for mosquito reproduction and health-related problems through insects and vermin, they will be accepting up to eight tires per residential household at no charge. Up to an additional eight tires will also be accepted at a fee of $2 per tire. Tires on rims will be taken at no charge and not included in the eight tire limit. Clean scrap metal will also be accepted at no cost. The town asks that anyone taking advantage of the program has proof of Town of Candor or Village of Candor residency. Tires and scrap will be accepted at the Town Highway Garage on Thursday from noon to 4:30, Friday from noon to four o’clock, and Saturday from eight to noon.
