The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office has released more details about the fatal accident that killed county fire coordinator John Scott yesterday. Around 3pm, the sheriff’s office says Scott was accidentally struck by a county pickup truck that was backing up on the property on Carmichael Road in Owego. He was later pronounced dead at Wilson Hospital. Scott and other county employees were conducting maintenance at the emergency tower site. No one else was injured in the incident, and it is still under investigation by the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office.
