Waverly Police have reported that they were called to State Route 17 on Sunday morning around 2:30 for a vehicle travelling the wrong direction on the highway. The vehicle was reported to be headed toward Waverly from the Chemung area. Waverly Police responded and located the vehicle traveling East Bound in the West bound passing lane at Exit 60 (Near the Chemung/Tioga County line). The vehicle was stopped by police near the Exit 61 interchange without incident. The driver was Michelle Taylor, age 40, of Waverly. Taylor was arrested for DWI and driving the wrong way on a highway. She is scheduled to answer the charges in the Village of Waverly court on April 12th.
