After all of the snow we received the past few days, we have set a new all-time snowfall record. The National Weather Service says we broke the seasonal snowfall record of 131.3 inches last night, and now sit at an official total of 131.5 inches of snow, or almost 11 feet. The old record was set in 1993-94. This year has been vastly different than last year, when our area saw an all-time low of 32 inches of snow. The Blizzard of 2017 also set a new 24-hour record of snowfall with 31.3 inches measured at the airport. Snowfall records have been kept at the Greater Binghamton Airport since 1951. Members of the National Guard and extra plows from the state DOT are still in the area helping residents dig out today.
