Seven fire departments worked for more than an hour to put out a fire at a cabinet factory in Athens Township. According to fire officials, the fire at Masco Cabinetry broke out just after 7 p.m. Saturday. They said the fire started near a machine that removes sawdust. Crews turned off the ventilation system to fight the fire and keep it from spreading. That caused the building to heat up like an oven. Officials say the temperature and humidity were so high, that’s why seven departments had to be called. They rotated in and out of the building for an hour and a half before the fire was under control. Athens Township fire officials said there is no structural damage to the building, and there were no injuries.
