A former Monroeton man has been sentenced to 90 to 125 years in state prison in Bradford County.
District Attorney Richard Wilson said 52-year-old Scott D. Sandfort received the sentence in Bradford County Court of Common Pleas. Sandfort was sentenced on 20 felony counts of incest and one felony count of corruption of minors. The sentence also includes 12 months of reentry supervision.
The District Attorney’s Office reported the sentence Tuesday as part of a new county criminal-court report. According to the release, Pennsylvania sentences commonly include both a minimum and maximum term. A defendant must serve at least the minimum period of incarceration before becoming eligible for parole supervision for the remainder of the maximum sentence.
Sandfort is currently being held at the Bradford County Correctional Facility and was formerly a resident of Monroeton.
Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Matthew Santiago filed the charges following an investigation into incidents that prosecutors said took place over a period of years beginning in June 2015.
The court report did not provide additional details about the incidents. The sentencing was among several Bradford County cases announced by the District Attorney’s Office Tuesday.
