New York State Police arrested a Waverly man yesterday suspected of selling counterfeit gold at his swap shop. Samuel Kolesnik III is charged with a class D felony of grand larceny. In June 2014 state troopers received a report of counterfeit gold being sold to a customer at Sammy’s Swap Shop on Broad Street in Waverly. They determined in April 2014 that Kolesnik had sold counterfeit gold coins and bars to a customer for $7000. A grand jury indictment resulted in an arrest warrant for the owner. Kolesnik was arraigned in the Tioga County Court and remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $2500 cash bail.
